What to expect as a Senior Rep

Deciding whether to become a Senior Rep your senior year can be a big decision. After all, it is a big commitment and this program will definitely push you out of your comfort zone! I’ve written a little about what you can expect during the program and hope this will help you make this an easier decision.

Expect to stand out

As a Senior Rep for my studio, you will be able to participate in photoshoots and opportunities that are only available to reps. For example, some shoots are not open to the public and only available to reps. Keeping the program exclusive is key so you’ll always have something different from others. You’ll have tons of photo opportunities which means, tons of photo memories!

Expect to participate

Senior reps stay busy throughout the year. From the time you are chosen as a rep, the photoshoots, meetings, hang outs, and community service opportunities all start to happen. Each month, you will attend a zoom meeting to discuss the events for the month. This is a chance for us to catch up and discuss new ideas. All photoshoots, team bonding events, and community service opportunities are important and you will be expected to attend. If you are involved in a lot of activities already, it may not be a good idea to apply because you may not be available for most activities.

Expect to make new friends

The number one reason I’ve heard reps love about being a senior rep is meeting seniors from other schools, that they may have never met if not for the Senior Rep Program. It’s important to get along with the rest of the team, and it may be out of your comfort zone to not have your regular friend group around all the time, so this is something to consider if you are applying. Once the program begins, and we start hanging out, it’ll become more of a family feel for you and I promise you’ll end up loving it.

Expect to Learn

You’ll definitely be pushed out of your comfort zone at shoots, but you will also learn how to pose yourself, what angles are the best for you, and how to be a good model for shoots. My goal is to build confidence and make you ready to be in front of the camera at any time.

Expect to have a hype person on your side

As your photographer, and Senior Rep leader, my goal is to create a family among seniors that you will remember forever. I will always encourage you, support you and do whatever it takes to make you feel at home with your team. I try my best to be one of your biggest supporters and I am always willing to listen and offer any advice I can give.
